Vitesse Arnhem is one of the oldest professional football clubs in the Netherlands. The club is based at The National Sports Centre Papendal, located 8km from Arnhem and where inspiresport groups can experience facilities of the highest level.

Based at the National Sports Centre Papendal, inspiresport groups are immersed in Dutch football culture; staying at the onsite accommodation, using first team training facilities, fixtures against Dutch opposition and a De GelreDome Stadium tour.

Training alongside your heros

Situated in the woods near Arnhem, the Papendal Sports Centre includes 6 full size football pitches of which one is astro turf. Since the arrival of the new owner of Vitesse the Papendal football facilities have been upgraded to the highest level in Dutch football. One of the pitches has a small stadium which has a 500 people capacity. The reserve squad and academy teams all play their matches here. The training ground is used regularly by the 1st team for training sessions which travelling groups are able to watch subject to consent first team management and availability.

Vitesse Arnhem – The Club

SBV Vitesse Arnhem, widely known as Vitesse or internationally known as Vitesse Arnhem, is a Dutch professional football club located in the municipality of Arnhem. Established on 14 May 1892, Vitesse is one of the oldest professional football clubs in the Eredivisie. Since 1998, the club has played its home games at the GelreDome.

Vitesse had its most successful period in the 1990s. Their best result in the Eredivisie was third place in 1997–98. They won the KNVB Cup in 2017 and also reached the final in 1912, 1927, 1990 and 2021. Vitesse established itself as a feeder club for future top class players like Raimond van der Gouw, Phillip Cocu, Roy Makaay, Sander Westerveld, Nikos Machlas, Mahamadou Diarra, Nemanja Matić, Wilfried Bony, Bertrand Traoré, Robin Gosens, Lewis Baker, Martin Ødegaard, Milot Rashica, and Mason Mount.

The GelreDome Stadium has a 34,000 capacity and was the first football stadium in the world to have a removable pitch. The pitch rolls up after every match and the club has only replaced its pitch last year, fourteen years after the stadium was first used.
